This plug is used for making an interface cable to key an amplifier for many Yeasu radios. The 10 pin mini din Linear connector is almost impossible to find and the amplifier keying appears on both the Linear and Tuner jacks on Yeasu radios, so this 8 pin mini din works in the TUNER jack on most modern Yeasu radios. There are other functions on that connector available as well.
